It all started with a high school crush…

“High school sweethearts is what we call ourselves and I love how our love for each other keeps growing fonder”
— Jonathan

“As Jonathan’s best friend, his girlfriend, his fiancée, and soon to be his wife, I have cherished the chance to have his hand in mine. So here is to forever holding that hand.”
— Brianna

Brianna and Jonathan met in high school Spanish class back in 2013. Brianna is who gets all the credit for this love story, because she boldly approached Jonathan and demanded his phone so he could have her number. Little did she know at the time that this random encounter would set the stage for an incredible love story.

As time went on, Brianna and Jonathan began sharing so many special memories together. One that sticks out is Valentine’s Day in 2014. Jonathan pulled out all the stops and surprised Brianna with a heart necklace and an adorable teddy bear. It was just one of the million ways he made her feel loved that year - through a lot of hardships surrounding her. From that point on, he became her rock, her biggest supporter, and her best friend.

Like all great highschool love stories, Jonathan and Brianna went to prom together, after Jonathan pulled off a cheerleading themed promposal. And later that year when Brianna’s family took a family trip to Turks and Caicos, Brianna racked up some serious international texting charges just to keep in touch with Jonathan. Oops, sorry, mom and dad! I think it’s now officially safe to say it was worth it.

As the school year came to a close, Brianna started to feel overwhelmed by how quickly things were getting serious between them. So, in June of 2014, she made the tough decision to end things. But, as fate would have it, a month later, she realized she had made a huge mistake. She tried to win Jonathan back, but it seemed like the timing just wasn't right. Brianna vividly remembers attending Jonathan's graduation, feeling an immense sense of pride and determination to make things work between them. And their story was far from over.

Jonathan went off to Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, while Brianna began her junior year of high school. Despite the distance, they managed to rebuild their friendship, and by March of 2016, they were practically dating again, even though Jonathan was a bit of a chicken and hadn't officially asked her out yet. But all that changed on June 28, 2016, when Jonathan presented Brianna with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, asking her to be his girlfriend.

Their journey continued as they faced the ups and downs of college life. They supported each other through thick and thin, including the loss of their beloved grandfathers. Graduation came and went, with Jonathan earning his degree in 2019 and Brianna following suit in 2020. And then came the unexpected twist—COVID-19 hit, and the world shut down. But that didn't stop them. In quarantine, their relationship grew even stronger. They fought through the uncertainty, determined to keep their relationship strong and thriving. In the end, they discovered there was nothing the two of them couldn’t endure together, as a team.

Fast forward to November 2021. Brianna couldn't help but tease Jonathan during their flight to Florida, asking if he was planning to propose. Of course, he denied it, leaving her a bit mad for the rest of the journey. But little did she know, the best surprise was yet to come. On November 19th, while enjoying the beautiful beaches of Royal Caribbean's private island "CocoCay" in the Bahamas, Jonathan got down on one knee and asked Brianna to be his wife. It was the easiest "yes" she had ever given, after five years of love, laughter, and growth together.

Since 2016, their lives have been a whirlwind of adventure. They've traveled to breathtaking destinations like Aruba, St. Thomas, St. John, and even Portugal. They have learned so much about themselves - growing not only in their relationship, but as individuals. They have laughed, and cried, and celebrated, and mourned. And through it all, they have fallen so much more in love with each other. Now, they look forward to a lifetime of more memories as husband and wife.
